Success beats forecast on strong demand

PETALING JAYA: Success Transformer Corp Bhd’s strong first half results were above expectations, thanks to continuing strong demand for transformers and industrial lighting equipment as well as process equipment, said analysts.

Risk of deeper Australian slowdown: central bank
(AFP) - Australia's central bank warned Tuesday that an early cut in interest rates may be necessary to prevent a harsher and longer lasting economic slowdown.

The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) left its official cash rate on hold at a 12-year high of 7.25 percent at its monthly meeting on August 5.<
